Riding the End 2 End as an Audax Permanent Event
If you are a veteran of AUK events, some of the following will probably not be news to you but if you have not ridden a Permanent version of an Audax before, please read the following.

All four of the End 2 End rides are based on the rules and regulations associated with UK Permanent Audax events. This means that even if you have ridden PBP or LEL, please do not expect expect me to validate your ride if:

  • You are not a member of Audax UK (AUK)

  • You have not contacted me at least 6 weeks prior to your planned start date

  • You have not sent in an entry form for the relevant ride along with payment for each member (£6.00) OR

  • You have not entered using PayPal for each member (£6.00)

  • You have not provided me with an outline route before you start (I will accept GPX tracks) with nominated control points

  • You are planning to have a van/car supporting your attempt between control points on any of the four rides

  • You are hoping to ride the Brevet Randonneur or Lumpy End 2 End as supported rides

  • You have not planned cut-off times for controls in line with the min/max speeds and/or

  • You cannot provide proof of passage that you have cleared controls within the time limits of the event undertaken

In terms of what support is permissable on the four rides, please refer to this page for more information if you are unsure.

If all this sounds too proscriptive then I suggest you look to ride the End 2 End your own way and save yourself the cash!  If not, read on.
