Riding the End 2 End 'supported' or 'unsupported'
All these rides are based on Audax UK rules however there are some additional things to consider. Please read the following.

The Populaire and 7x200 versions can be vaildated as supported rides. Within the general regulations, this means:

  • Control points should be nominated and declared in advance with the organiser (i.e. me)

  • You can arrange to be met by someone at any of these control points

  • The person meeting you can be carrying food, tent related stuff, spare clothing

  • The person meeting you can be carrying tools, spare bits for your bike and all that sort of gubbins

  • Permitted accomodation points can include your own/friends/relatives houses

  • Permitted accomodation points can also include commercial properies e.g. hotels, hostels, pubs/inns, campsites and B&Bs.

  • Others may join you for sections of the route but cannot be used to pace you as per AUK regulations

  • No support to you (or the group) between control points is permitted including pacing, spare kit, spare clothing, food, love, encouragment, etc.

The Brevet Randonneur and Lumpy End 2 End versions can only be validated as unsupported rides. Within the general regulations, this means:

  • Other than the group who have entered the whole event with you, you are effectively on your own for the duration of the ride.

  • This means you will have to carry your own spares, clothes, tools, food while riding and are in charge of your own destiny

  • That does not stop you from using a friend's house/your house/ your mum's house  to stay at on the way but they cannot assist you other than offer a bed and food

  • Other permitted accomodation can include commercial properies e.g. hotels, hostels, pubs/inns, campsites and B&Bs.

  • If you camp, you need to carry your own tent and sleeping bag etc with you

  • Others may join you for sections of the route but cannot be used to pace you as per AUK regulations
